Week 4 - INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOSHOP 3 (Adjustment Layer & Filters)

1. Adjustment to Layer & Filters
Adjustment Layers in Photoshop are highly useful and non-destructive tools that add colour and tonal changes to your image without altering the original pixels. With the adjustment layers, you can edit and discard your adjustments or restore your original image at any time, offering greater flexibility and efficiency in your workflow.

2. Basic Understanding of Adjustment Layers
When you add an adjustment layers to an image, a new layers will appear over the image together with properties panel specific to the type of adjustment you’ve selected.

2. TUTORIAL

Digital Collage Instructions :

1. Lighting and Filters: Adjust lighting and apply filters for a better outcome for the chosen composition previously.

2. Using Pen Tool: Use the Pen Tool for selections in Photoshop.

3. PRACTICAL

For the fourth assignment, we had to modify our best digital collages composition using the tools provided in Photoshop to match the lighting, adjustment layers, and filters.

Mr. Fauzi chose this design to be the best one. For this design, I created it by cutting out each element with the pen tool and arranging them according to the golden ratio. The concept behind this design is that the two individuals are stepping into another dimension filled with random things through a portal.

For the second task, I did the colour correcting mostly by changing the brightness and contrast. For the individual elements, I modified their saturation and colours using the selective colour and colour balance tools. This resulted in pink and darker blue being the dominant colours. Additionally, the overall design now has a darker tone due to the darker colours than before.
