This font is a retro, pixel-style typeface made to bring back the nostalgic feel of classic arcade games. Its bold, blocky letters and 8-bit look make it great for gaming posters, arcade themes, and designs that need a vintage video game vibe. Inspired by old-school arcade graphics and the Wreck-It Ralph movie poster, this font adds a fun, nostalgic touch to modern projects.

4. REFLECTION
Experience
Throughout this module, I explored different aspects of typography, starting with typographic systems, then creating a wordmark, and finally designing a decorative font. At first, I recalled my basic knowledge from Semester 1, which helped me start the first exercise. Working on the typographic systems was interesting but challenging because I needed to balance creativity with readability. For the wordmark, I initially chose ideas just because they looked cute, but later I learned that a wordmark should represent my personality and identity. The third task, creating a decorative font, was both fun and challenging. Fixing small details like kerning, punctuation, and stroke thickness took time, but I enjoyed the process. In the end, I was proud of my final artworks, especially the arcade-style font.
Observations
I noticed that small details make a big difference in design. For example, how wide a bracket is or where pixel crumbs are placed can change the look of a font. I also saw that font design is not just about drawing letters; it requires rules and consistency for everything, including punctuation. In the wordmark exercise, I realized that every element must have meaning and reflect my identity. Mr. Vinod reminded us to avoid unrelated symbols, like my first idea of using a rabbit. I also learned the importance of choosing colours carefully to create balance. Throughout all tasks, I observed how feedback helped improve my work, from fixing margins and letter shapes to improving colours and layout.
Findings
I found that typography combines creativity with structure. For typographic systems, I learned how alignment, hierarchy, and spacing affect readability. For the wordmark, I discovered that making all letters playful can feel too much, so it’s better to focus on one. In font design, I realized that planning is important, especially thinking about how the font will be used later. Consistency is key, even when being creative, because it keeps the design harmonious. Overall, these projects taught me how to apply design principles while expressing my ideas, making me more confident and thoughtful as a designer.
